It was only a matter of time:

When US gamer David Harr got frustrated being 60 points short of completing a title he decided to take radical action - he built a machine to do it for him...

...He built a machine that would start and re-start the game to register for the final achievements he needed.

"I reverse engineered the problem and came up with the xBot"

To win those final 60 points in Perfect Dark Zero Mr Harr realised he simply needed to play 2,000 offline matches in the game...

..."I calculated that it would take about 40 hours of gameplay just pushing two buttons to start and re-start a game," he said.

"With my electronics experience I wondered if there was something that could push those two buttons for me so I could go about my daily life."

Using $60 (£32) of electronics parts bought from a local shop and some parts he had "just lying around", Mr Harr built his xBot machine in about 10 hours.

I wonder how many other people go to these lengths over achievement points? Still, keeps him off the streets I suppose.

Not sure which is worse...building a robot to get the final 60 achievement points for a game like PD0, or having other 360 gamers get upset that you're "cheating" your way to 60 extra points.

lol at that contraption, when i first read the article i thought he had used the 360 as a computer brain for a robot project like a walker or something.

So all hes doing is starting a offline match exiting out and restarting to rack up 2000 offline matches.

Bloody expensive $60 for a button pusher, i would of thought you could make a much cheaper device using two 555 timers that electronicly press the buttons for you, for about $5 or so.

Still i like it for its 1950's sci fi contraption vibe :).

I believe the point of the robot was so that he COULD be on the streets, instead of playing Xbox.

Damn Achievement whores!! I like Achievements, they can make a great game even more fun with the certain things you accomplish, 500 terrorists taken out, 20/30 cog tags found, etc. But seriously, how badly do you really need to get every God damn Achievement point in a game?

Perfect Dark Zero sucked balls. It was one of the most overrated pieces of garbage I've played. I can sympathize with someone who would rather have a robot play it for him than play it himself.
